It has been a few years since I read the House of Niccolo. I loved the series so much that I read them quite leisurely, becoming so engrossed I never wanted them to end. I fell completely in love with Nicholas, although I can understand how his personality would not necessarily appeal to everyone!
When it came to reading the last book, I just couldn't bear it ending, so it was saved for a long period of time. Finally, I finished it and was glad since she ended it so well. Last year I visited Edinburgh and felt so connected to the Castle, the Cannongate and Holyrood; like I actually knew the former inhabitants!
I will be visiting Iceland this year and I am ordering the guide. Hopefully, I will be able to visit Bruges as well at some point.
I have the Lymond Chronicles but have not been able to start them yet. I am excited to read more, but Niccolo will be a tough act to follow even though I know they were written first.
I am grateful for this society honoring this author.

I've thoroughly enjoyed reading issues 131 & 132 The sneak peak allowed into the correspondence between Dorothy and her American editor Harvey Ginsberg is just fascinating. Also, Carole Richardson's "A Dunnett Lexicon" is a joy to read and as a word lover I will be opening each successive issue of Whispering Gallery to her contribution.
