The 2019 Essex Day will be held at Denise’s studio on Saturday 27th July from 10 am to 5 pm, organised by Dorothy Dunnett Society members Denise Gannon and Linda Butcher. Download the booking form here.
Studios 49–51, The Village
Our keynote speaker is Christine Brewster who will be giving a talk on Saxon Essex: History and Literature. Denise will be taking on the mantle of Michel Hérisson, Archi Abernaci and Colard Manson, giving a workshop where you will make your own printing block (no carving skills needed!) and print a bag with a medieval tile design. If time and inclination allow, you could stitch into your design.
For our general discussion time, we would like you to bring your favourite child-related piece, happy or sad, from any of Lady Dunnett’s works. We would also ask you to consider your secret villain crush, male or female, and be prepared to defend your reasons!
Lunch will be taken in Tiptree Tea Rooms at Barleylands where you may choose a light lunch or something more filling.
An early evening meal (at around 6pm) will be arranged in nearby Billericay for those that wish it.
Please return the booking form by Friday 5th July with your payment of £25.00 to:
